Polio Walk on First Street in Collingwood to raise funds to achieve a polio-free world
Rotary members in Collingwood and Wasaga Beach will host a Polio walk on First Street in Collingwood on Monday, October 24th at 5 pm to raise awareness and funds to support the eradication of polio — a vaccine-preventable disease that still threatens children in parts of the world today.
Who: Rotary Clubs of Collingwood, Collingwood South Georgian Bay and Wasaga Beach

Where: Back parking lot of Northwinds at 499 First St, Collingwood.

Global Polio Eradication Initiative
Since Rotary and its partners launched the Global Polio Eradication Initiative in 1988, the incidence of polio has plummeted by more than 99.9 percent, from about 350,000 cases to just 5 cases in 2021. Rotary has contributed more than $2.4 billion to ending polio.
